Player Press Fantasy Football Week 1 Recap

It was an exciting first week for the Player Press Fantasy Football League. There were some close games, some blowouts, and even some comeback victories after the Monday night games concluded. It is going to be a fun season.
Sweatpants & Handguns Murders DaBares 127-96

Adrian Peterson had a huge day with180 Rushing Yards, 3 TD and 18 Receiving yards for a total of 37 points for Sweatpants. She also had a big day from TE Tony Gonzalez with 73 receiving yards and a TD. The Titans DST racked up 16 points as well.
For DaBares, Donavan McNabb had 2 passing TD’s and a rushing TD for 21 points, Darren Sproles had 23 yards rushing along with 43 yards receiving with a TD for 12 points, and the Falcons DST added a nice 20 points.

Payton Manning Threw for 301 yards with a touchdown for 16 points, Ryan Grant ran for 61 yards and one TD for 12 points, Ray Rice picked up 11 points, Dwayne Bowe had 40 yards receiving and a TD, the Jets defense picked up 118 points.
For the Flash Greyhounds, the biggest scorer was the Giants defense with 19 points with a TD, an Interception, a fumble recovery and 3 sacks. Phillip Rivers had 252 passing yards with a TD for 14 points.

Drew Brees had a career day passing for 358 yards with 6 touchdowns and 48 points. Julius Jones ran for 117 yards and a TD for 18 points. TE John Carlson had 95 yards receiving and 2 TDs for 21 points, and Roy Williams had 86 yards receiving and a TD for 14 points.
For Hypnos_zz, Kurt Warner had 288 yards passing with 1 TD for 13 points, RB Frank Gore had 2 TD’s one rushing and 1 receiving for 16 points and WR Devin Hester had 90 receiving yards and a TD.
MC Homer Woo-Hoos the Bo Jacksons 104-64

Tony Romo was another QB with a huge day. He had 353 Yards passing with 3 TDs for 32 points. Devery Henderson had 103 yards receiving with a TD for 16 points, Randy Moss added in 14 points with 141 yards receiving and the Vikings defense added 15 points with an Interception, fumble recovery and 5 sacks.
For the Bo Jacksons, Kevin Smith had a TD, 20 yards rushing and 52 yards receiving for 13 points Nick Folk has 2 fields goals and 4 extra points for 12 points.
Bayside Tigers Claw out a win versus the Cleveland Steamers 83-79

Eli Manning has 256 yards passing with a TD for 12 points, Fred Jackson picked up 19 points with a TD and 57 rushing and 83 receiving yards. The Chargers defense added 10 points with an interception and a fumble recovery.
For the Cleveland Steamers, Matt Hasselbeck had 279 passing yards with 3 TDs for 25 points. Maurice Jones-Drew had 97 rushing yards and a TD, and the Colts d threw in 11 points.
Philly Fans Suck Throws Snow Balls at Texans wins 88-84

Aaron Rodgers had 184 yards passing with a TD for 15 points, Brian Westbrook had 64 yards rushing and a TD for 12 points, Santonio Holmes had 131 yards receiving with a TD for 19 points, TE Chris Cooley had 68 yards receiving with a TD for 12 points and the Bears Defense added 12 points with a safety and 4 sacks.
For the Texans, Tom Brady had 378 yards passing with 2 TDs for 25 points, DeAngelo Williams had a TD with 37 yards rushing and 42 Yards receiving while Vincent Jackson, Neil Rackers, and the patriots defense all added 10 points.

I understand MC Homer. I am in two main leagues every year and then always get into other leagues like this one as well. The one league I run is the only one I have never won. Very frustrating, but I'm still the Best Damn Fantasy Football Commissioner Period. I agree that the most fun I have doing fantasy sports is always the draft. You can imagine how I rip all of the other picks constantly. Yes, I'm quite annoying in real life too.

I have a tendancy to do that, doh! Let me begin by saying I very much appreciate you reading my work Dub. And yes, I did say I hate fatasy football, but did you read the part where I said I would continue to particitpate? Besides, if I win, how can I hate it? I've just never won, hence the hatred (among other reasons listed in my article).

All the negative Philly talk convinced me not to play their 43-point Defense. Bad move by me--well done Benn. Oh well, this week Philly gets scored on by Drew Brees, so they will stay on the bench and I will depend on NE again.

And you should really point out all the stupid roster decisions each owner makes too Nolan. I'm sure we'll ALL make a few during the year. Pointing out how dumb we all are is part of the fun. Or maybe I should do it, since I'm good at being a Bastard. LOL.
