National Football Conference
Clinched – Dallas Cowboys (12-2) and the Seattle Seahawks (9-4-1)
New York Giants (10-4) - With a win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia, the Giants would clinch a playoff spot. With a loss, they would move onto week 17 with a strong chance of still making the playoffs.
Detroit Lions (9-5) – With a win over the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas, combined with a loss by the Green Bay Packers, the Minnesota Vikings or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Lions would clinch the North Division title and/or a playoff spot. With a loss, they would move onto week 17.
Atlanta Falcons (9-5) - With a win over the Carolina Panthers in Carolina, combined with a loss by the Minnesota Vikings, Washington Redskins or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Falcons would clinch the South Division title and/or a playoff spot. With a loss, they would move onto week 17.
Washington Redskins (8-5-1) - With a win over the Chicago Bears in Chicago, combined with a loss by the Green Bay Packers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Redskins would clinch a playoff spot. With a loss, they would move onto week 17.
Green Bay Packers (8-6) – Even if the Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings at home, they would still move onto week 17 to face possible elimination. If they lose, they would face elimination if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Washington Redskins win. Otherwise, they would move onto week 17 with a must win situation to stay alive.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-6) – If Tampa Bay beats the New Orleans Saints in New Orleans, they would still have a chance to win the South Division and a playoff spot. If Atlanta also wins, they would still be alive for a playoff spot going into week 17. They would face a must win situation in week 17 if they should lose to the Saints.
Minnesota Vikings (7-7) – A loss to the Green Bay Packers in Green Bay would result in elimination from the playoffs. If they win, they could still face elimination if the Washington Redskins, Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers should all win. Under any other scenario, they would move on to week 17 to face a must win situation for the chance to make the playoffs, depending on the fate of other teams.
