Gruden getting a little testy?

Following Sunday’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III stated in his press conference that he is not the only one that needs to play better, but that the team as a whole does.

Many took that as him throwing his team under the bus and as you can imagine it did not go over well with anyone—especially head coach Jay Gruden:

Gruden: "Robert needs to worry about himself.... I'll worry about everybody else. ... He elaborated too much"

— Mike Jones (@MikeJonesWaPo) November 17, 2014
Gruden’s reaction seems overly sensitive. Rather than take all the blame Griffin just said everyone needs to play better. Did he lie? Absolutely not.

However, does the team’s failure as a whole reflect poorly on the head coach? Absolutely.
