Jerry Jones Was Going to Draft Johnny Manziel—But His Son Stopped Him!
So now Jerry was going to draft Johnny Football?
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones can’t stop talking about Johnny Manziel. He’s gone from not wanting to draft him (hence not doing so) to he was going to but his son Stephen stopped him.
In the latest edition of the tale Jerry Jones had written Manziel’s name down on the draft card, but before he could turn it in his son Stephen—the team’s executive vice president—snatched it out of his hand.
Author Jim Dent relayed the story to the Dallas Morning News
“As it turned out, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones had snatched the Manziel card straight out of his dad’s hand. Otherwise, Jerry would have drafted him and JFF would have sat for at least three years behind Tony Romo.”
As nice as it would have been to have Johnny Football waiting in the wings for Cowboys fans they will have to be satisfied with Brandon Weeden instead.
