NFL Top 100 Player Rankings and NFL Futures Odds

Is any election ever on the level?

After all of the hype about the NFL Top 100 Players on NFL Network that it was voted on by NFL players is a complete farce.

But before I go into my thoughts on the NFL player rankings, let me talk about the NFL Futures Odds. The start of the NFL season is right around the corner. It's always fun to check out the team odds to see who the bookmakers think will win the Super Bowl. Right now Vegas has the Denver Broncos at 6/1 Odds and the Seattle Seahawks at 7/1 Odds. A surprise in their thinking is they have the San Francisco 49ers at 17/2 Odds. Keep in mind these are the same experts who had Brazil easily winning the World Cup.

Now back to the NFL player rankings. My issue is not the fact that it was voted on by NFL players, but only 28% of the leagues players actually vote and then all they are asked is to rank their top 20 players and the list is configured off of those lists.

And the funny thing is, I keep hearing about numerous NFL players that say they have never voted and don't know anyone else in their locker rooms who voted either. How is this possible?

Who decides the 28% of the players that do vote?

In addition, every team does not play against every team in a season, so how could someone vote about the best players when they haven't played against them? By listening to the damn sportscasters and watching who makes the highlights.

So it's the players who have been highly influenced by the sportscasters who are making the vote for players they didn't play against.

I don't know but it seems just a bit fishy to me. But you be the judge.
