Nine times out of ten when your boss says something is ‘voluntary’ it means ‘you don’t have to come, but you really should.’ If you aren’t going to come you better at least let someone know.
It appears that New York Jets running back Mike Goodson missed the memo.
The veteran running back has been absent from OTAs which is not unusual. However, what is unusual is that he has not been in any contact with the team as to why. All Ryan would say is that the team expects to see him at the Jets mandatory mini-camp June 17-19.
Goodson is coming off a season where he only ran the ball seven times or 61 yards in two games before tearing his ACL and MCL. Over the course of his career he has only gained 783 yards on 167 carries.
For a player that has done little to earn his spot this sounds like a great way to make sure you don’t get anymore.
