Vick throwing in the towel already?

While it has been publicized that there will be an open quarterback competition with Geno Smith during New York Jets OTAs and training camp, Michael Vick feels that the competition is already over and that he will be sitting on the bench.

Vick told reporters on Thursday that he believes there will be no competition and that he will not have the opportunity to start with the Jets this season.

“Pretty much cut and dry,” Vick said. “It’s kind of unique. Even though it’s not an open competition, we’re both competing every day.”

I find it hard to believe that Vick seems to be giving up and basically handing the job to Smith.
Even if Smith does start, I am sure that he will be on a short list due to his turnovers, which come in bunches when they happen and Vick should be ready.

Oh and don’t forget about rookie quarterback Tajh Boyd from Clemson. He just might have something to prove as well and eventually show them both up.
