Chicago Cubs pitcher Jeff Samardzija is having a great season as long as you don’t count wins in that equation because he doesn’t have any yet this season.
Samardzija has a 1.46 ERA, which leads all pitchers, with 54 strikeouts in 68 innings pitched and a 1.09 WHIP but yet he is 0-4 on the year in 10 starts.
He has been stellar all season including a start against the New York Yankees Wednesday night but once again his teammates let him down by either giving up the lead once Samardzija left the game or the overall lack of overall run support.
There is no doubt in my mind that Samardzija will be playing on a contender before the trade deadline this season.
It’s just too bad that the Cubs are the Cubs and the best pitcher in baseball is winless because of it.
