Incredible streak comes to an end.

Masahiro Tanaka has not lost a baseball game in his last 43 starts including his career in Japan and his 6-0 start with the New York Yankees this season but the Chicago Cubs ended that streak Tuesday night with a 6-1 victory in Wrigley Field.

Tanaka pitched six innings and gave up four runs on eight hits, the first time this season he has given up more than three runs, but he did have seven strikeouts.

Jason Hamel started for the Cubs and gave up one run in 5.2 innings on four hits with six strikeouts.

Things got a little dicey in the ninth as the Yanks loaded the bases but Derek Jeter grounded out to end the game. It was the Cubs third win in a row.

Luis Valbuena went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Mike Olt had three RBI for the Cubs.
