Are some faking support of Michael Sam?

Shortly after Michael Sam became the first openly gay athlete in the NFL and kissed his boyfriend on television a number of people took to social media to voice their displeasure with the kiss—like Miami Dolphins safety Don Jones.

Jones has since been slandered, suspended by the team, and fined.

In an effort to gauge public sentiment the Miami Herald ran an anonymous poll to see how people in South Florida felt about it.

Miami Herald readers didn't like #Dolphins fining and suspending Don Jones re: Michael Sam. Poll results 74% disagreed, 26% agreed.

That has to make you wonder—are the vast majority of people really behind Sam or are they going along with it in order not to be slandered and punished for speaking their mind like Jones.
