First of all I would like to congratulate defensive end Michael Sam on being drafted and his opportunity to play in the NFL after being drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the seventh round on Saturday.
 
With that said, I think that the media has blown this way out of proportion because Sam is openly gay. Who gives a rat’s ass?
 
The fact that he is openly gay should have absolutely nothing to do with what he can do on a football field and I am already sick and tired of all the hoopla that a seventh round pick is getting just for his sexual preference.
 
For the record I am straight and once again I don’t give a crap that Mills is gay and it should not be such a big news item. It is total B.S. in my book.
 
If he makes the Rams what’s next? First openly gay player makes NFL team!
 
President Obama even called him to congratulate him. Not because he was drafted in the seventh round but because he is gay and was drafted.     
 
Enough already! Let the kid play football and leave his sexual preference behind closed doors.
