26th Player to 500 HRs.

Los Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols became the 26th player in Major League history to hit 500 home runs on Tuesday night with two home runs off Washington Nationals right-hander Taylor Jordan.

Pujols is the first player to hit his 499th and 500th home runs in the same game.

Following 11 Hall of Fame seasons and a nine-time All-Star with the St. Louis Cardinals, Pujols struggled his first two seasons in Los Angeles but appears poised to reclaim his spot as one of the games best power hitters with a strong start this season.

Pujols was the first player to hit 30 homers in each of his first 12 seasons and the second to reach 100 RBIs in each of his first 10 seasons.
