Tarvaris Jackson had to be happy when he was brought back to Seattle. It’s just a shame he will probably not last.
Monday night the news broke that the Seahawks had traded a seventh round pick to Oakland for Terrelle Pryor. The addition of Matt Schaub and the emergence of Matt McGloin made him the expendable crew member.
So what is going to make Jackson the expendable crew member in Seattle?
Jackson is older (31) and is going to see what skills he has decline any day now. With a career QB rating of 78.5 those skills were never great to begin with. In Pryor the team has someone that is much younger, can still be molded, and is as athletic as Wilson—just bigger.
Pryor is not near the talent that Wilson is, but he’s at least as good if not better than Jackson. Tack on the fact that the offense would not need to change should Pryor have to play (while it would with Jackson) and it is just a matter of time.
