Another Failed Drive For Donovan McNabb

It seems that ex-Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb has trouble with drives on and off the field.

Apparently former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb spent one day in an Arizona jail this week, as a result of a DUI count.

While it isn't necessarily a shocking revelation that an athlete is in trouble with the law, I did find it rather amazing that McNabb was actually arrested on Dec. 15.  It makes you wonder how this didn't leak out in today's world of 24-hour news coverage, TMZ and Twittidiots.  I mean, this has to be the first time his parents have ever kept their mouths shut about anything involving their little mommas-boy.

Personally, I think it was a cover-up, just like when he puked in the huddle during that last failed drive in Super Bowl XXXIX.

McNabb is currently employed by NBC Sports Radio and Fox Sports, even though he offers absolutely no insight and provides nothing but goofy faces and lame jokes.  Obviously, somebody knew about this, but it was never reported.  Maybe the authorities reported the incident to Andy Reid, but due to his horrible time-management abilities, he never got around to letting anyone know.

Court documents show that McNabb was arrested on Dec. 15 in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, east of Phoenix.  He was clocked doing 81 mph in a 65 mph zone at 3 am, but no blood-alcohol level was on the citation.  My (imaginary) sources tell me that the arresting officers knew he was drunk when he blew chunks as the officers huddled around him.

McNabb pleaded guilty on March 27 and served one day in jail on Wednesday, April 16, after the other nine days of his sentence were suspended.  I guess they figured the sad end of his NFL career, that included embarrassing stops in Washington and Minnesota, was punishment enough for the passive-aggressive McNabb.

Hopefully McNabb will get somebody else to drive him from now on, since the two most famous "drives" of his career ended in disaster.
