Don’t steal home without it.

Any baseball fan that is asked to name the best movies related to the sport would have a lot to choose from. After all, there is Bull Durham, The Natural, It Happens Every Spring, The Rookie and For The Love Of The Game, but regardless of the rest, Major League always keeps making the top of the list.

Twenty five years ago today Major League made it theatrical debut and it has been a classic ever since.

It’s hard to believe that it has been that long since Willy Mays Hayes said that he “hit like Mays and ran like Hayes or Pedro Cerano prayed to Jobu so he could hit a curveball, or Rick (Wild Thing) Vaughn threw a pitch that announcer Harry Doyle claimed was “Just a bit outside”.

Whatever the reason Major League is one of the best baseball movies of all time and I wish it a very happy 25th Anniversary.

Now I have to go and pop the DVD in just for nostalgia sake.
