Draft Chat with Cal OL Mark Brazinski.

Mark Brazinski played Center for California who came to college as a highly touted nationally ranked High School player from New Jersey. Mark is a versatile player who can play both Center and Guard who understands blocking schemes, tight-zone blocking, pass protection and defensive analysis with natural football instincts and superior knowledge of the game. Mark played in only nine games at Cal from 2009-2013 due to injuries which he has fully recovered from. In 2011, Mark was named 1st Team Pac-12 All-Academic and in 2013 he was selected as a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, an award that recognizes the best scholar-athlete in the nation.
 
Mark has the work ethic, talent, heart, and determination to succeed as a professional football player, and will reward the team that signs him.


















Q: What is the fondest memory of your college career?
 
A: There was quite a few but my first year when the defense picked off an Andrew Luck pass to secure the win and beat Stanford to get the Stanford Ax trophy. 
 
 
Q: Who was the toughest competitor you faced in college?
 
A: Star Lotulelei from Utah because he was strong and played with a non-stop motor.
 
 
Q: What was your best game in college?
 
A: Oregon State my senior year. I was just feeling that game, was well prepared, knew the game plan and played very well.
 
 
Q: What colleges recruited you out of high school?
 
A: Florida State, Rutgers, Syracuse, Cal and many of the ivy league schools to name a few.
 
 
Q: What made you choose California?
 
A: According to USA News and World Reports Cal has the best business school in the nation for division 1A.
 
 
Q: What was your favorite NFL team growing up?
 
A: I really didn’t have a favorite team although I did follow the Steelers somewhat. Just watched what ever was on TV in my area.
 
 
Q: Who was your favorite player?
 
A: Kevin Mawae, a center who played for the Titans, Jets and Seahawks. He was just a great player who made the Pro Bowl multiple times in his career.
 
 
Q: Which current NFL player most resembles you?
 
A: Alex Mack because he is a smart player who plays low and has a good sense of the game.
 
 
Q: What will distinguish you from other rookies?
 
A: The fact that I can play any position on the offensive line and because I am a member of Mensa I have the intelligence to pick up any position on the line quickly.
 
 
Q: What would your former teammates say about you?
 
A: They would say that I am a hard working smart player who gets the job done.
 
 
Q: What are you presently doing as far as training?
 
A: Currently I am getting prepared for a regional combine which is being held this weekend in Baltimore.
 
 
Q: How do you think you will do on your pro-day?
 
A: I think I will do well and will turn some heads.
 
 
Q: Which is your favorite event?
 
A: I like the 5-10-5 It is a good agility drill for lineman.
 
 
Q: How was the agent selection process for you?
 
A: It was interesting; I used numerous situations and listened to what people had to say about particular agents.
 
 
Q: Why did you choose John Hernandez and Agency Athlete?
 
A: I liked how up front he was with me. A lot of Agents try to sell you the dream and he told me how it was and what his plan for me was with no beating around the bush. I also wanted an Agent based in NY and it really worked out well.
 
 
Q: If you could have dinner with any three people, dead or alive, who would they be and why?
 
  1. Jesus Christ
  2. My Father because he taught me so much.
  3. One of my brothers because he would be able to translate with Jesus because he is studying ancient languages. 
 
Q: What do you want to do besides football?
 
A: I have a strong entrepreneurial spirit with a lot of options if football doesn’t work out. I am currently working on a Masters degree and have a few things up my sleeve that I could do to make me happy.
 
 
Q: What do you like to do for fun?
 
A: I like to go bowling. I actually won a tournament at Cal and I like to watch movies.
 
 
Q: If you were a dog, what breed would you be and why?
 
A: Dire wolf, something that only existed in Neolithic times because it’s the king of any dog throughout history.
 
 
Q: What is your favorite sport besides football? 
 
A: I like to watch MMA and am a big fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.
