NFL Draft Chat with Bryan Bonilla. 

Bryan Bonilla played in 46 career games with a total of 227 tackles (83 solo 144 assisted), 12 TFL, 2 sacks, 2 pass deflections, 1 forced fumble and 2 fumble recoveries as the starting OLB for New Mexico State University. He has received many accolades during his college and high school career including being named to Phil Steele's 2013 Pre-season 2nd Team All-Independent and Phil Steele's 2012 Pre-season 2nd Team All-WAC.
 
While Bonilla is expected to be a late round pick or UDFA the team that does pick him up may have the steal of the draft as he has star potential.




Q: What is the fondest memory of your college career?
 
A: I think it would be beating Minnesota at home my sophomore season in my first year as a starter. We were huge underdogs and we went in there with an attitude and shocked them with a 28-21 victory. I also got my first collegiate sack in that game.
 
 
Q: Who was the toughest competitor you faced in college?
 
A: Colin Kaepernick quarterback for Nevada and current 49ers QB.
 
 
Q: What was your best game in college?
 
A: I would probably say this past season against Boston College. I had 14 tackles with a forced fumble which I recovered and we held Heisman hopeful running back Andre Williams in check.
 
 
Q: What colleges recruited you out of high school?
 
A: Utah State, Nevada but no one actually offered me a scholarship.
 
 
Q: What made you choose New Mexico State?
 
A: They offered me a preferred walk on and I made the team and was offered a scholarship my sophomore season.
 
 
Q: What was your favorite NFL team growing up?
 
A: The San Francisco 49ers.
 
 
Q: Who was your favorite player?
 
A: Patrick Willis.
 
 
Q: Which current NFL player most resembles you?
 
A: NaVorro Bowman of the 49ers.
 
 
Q: What will distinguish you from other rookies?
 
A: Understanding that it is a process and that I will have to work my up. I have never had a problem being overlooked and proving people wrong. I actually enjoy it and it drives me.
 
 
Q: What would your former teammates say about you?
 
A: They would say that I am a hard worker motivate the team expect them to give it their all like I do for them and always make everyone feel included.
 
 
Q: What are you presently doing as far as training?
 
A: I doing weights, speed work and technical work with the drills for the combine and working on being relaxed as I run through my drills.
 
 
Q: How do you think you will do on your pro-day?
 
A: I think I’ll do pretty well. I’m pretty confident with my 3-cone drill and Shuttle drill. I have been working really hard and think that I will shock a few people and open some eyes.
 
 
Q: Which is your favorite event?
 
A: Bench press and 3-cone drill.
 
 
Q: How was the agent selection process for you?
 
A: I heard from a lot of agents and explored around and was looking for someone who would help me both on and off the field.
 
 
Q: Why did you choose John Hernandez and Agency Athlete?
 
A: He was looking out for my future out of football as well as on the field and he seemed like a great guy. He was straight up, didn’t beat around the bush and had the sincerity that he would look out for my best interests.
 
 
Q: If you could have dinner with any three people, dead or alive, who would they be and why?
 
  1. Abraham Lincoln because he revolutionized the country. He made everything possible and I would like to know what his thought process was.
  2. Steve Jobs because I would like to know what his ideas were growing up and how did he ever imagine what his company would turn into.
  3. Mark Cuban because he is so successful and I would like to know how he goes about making daily decisions. 
 
Q: What do you want to do besides football?
 
A: I want to get into my Uncles interstate trucking company and help my cousins take it to a new level.
 
 
Q: What do you like to do for fun?
 
A: I like to play video games, watch movies, shoot hoops and enjoy the company of my family and friends.
 
 
Q: If you were a dog, what breed would you be and why?
 
A: If I were a dog I would be a husky because that have a lot of energy are very playful, good looking and people like them.
 
 
Q: What is your favorite sport besides football? 
 
A: Basketball.
