James Jones Commits WR Career Suicide Signs With Raiders

At least the weather will not be so darn cold!

James Jones was good—not great—during his seven years in Green Bay. There is a place for good wide receivers in the league; even 29-year old ones. However, if you want to keep your career going there is one thing you don’t want to do as a wide receiver.

Sign with a team that has serious issues at quarterback—like the Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders are so desperate for a quarterback that they are actually trying to trade for Matt Schaub; yes, Matt “Pick-6” Schaub. Oakland is also rumored to have interest in Mark Sanchez (don’t laugh), Michael Vick, and Josh Freeman.

Apparently the appeal of playing for his hometown team (he’s from nearby San Jose) and to be close to friends and family is enough of an appeal (along with a three year, $11.3 million deal with $4.5 million guaranteed).

He sure isn’t going to be doing a lot of winning in the near future
