Members of the Raiderettes, the Oakland Raiders cheerleading squad, have filed a class action lawsuit against the team and the NFL in an attempt to get paid a fair wage for their work and the suit is gaining momentum.
The less than minimum wage salaries the girls are paid by the Oakland Raiders doesn't begin to cover the hours they put in. While they are paid $125.00 per game, which doesn’t sound bad for three hours work, all of the extra work they put in rehearsing or participating in promotional events pays them squat.
In addition, none of the girls actually get paid until after the season so they have to wait months and months before they see it.
