His kind of town Chicago is.

This season for the Chicago Bears, quarterback Josh McCown had the best season of his 11-year NFL career backing up Jay Cutler. In eight games with five starts in place of an injured Cutler, McCown completed 66.8 of his passes for 1,829 yards with 13 touchdowns, one interception and a franchise-record 109.0 passer rating.

With his performance there is no doubt that with McCown on the verge of becoming an unrestricted free agent that there will be other teams looking at the 34-year old veteran quarterback.

McCown wants to stay in Chicago with the Bears.

"My heart is heavy in Chicago for reasons just from this year, not just getting to play but more importantly the guys in the locker room, the coaches, the organization, the McCaskeys," McCown said.

I think that the only way McCown does not remain with the Bears is if another team brings him in as the hands down starter. He doesn’t want another competition.

After all, he likes his offensive teammates in Chicago, including Cutler, the coaching staff and scheme and he would be very disappointed if he left for another team and ended up as the backup there.

“Right now as far as I'm concerned, I'm a Chicago Bear,” McCown said. “My heart is there.”
