Former Houston Astros, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers switch hitting outfielder/first baseman Lance Berkman officially announced his retirement on Wednesday.
 
Berkman was drafted by the Astros in the 1st round (16th pick) of the 1997 amateur draft and made his Major League debut on July 16th, 1999.
 
He was named to the All-Star team six times and won the World Series in 2011 with the Cardinals.
 
Berkman retires with a .296 batting average with 366 home runs and 1234 RBI.
