Iron Mike getting soft?

Iron Mike Ditka played in a time where there were no domes and NFL championship games were played at the home park of the better ranked team regardless of the weather. Ditka won an NFL Championship with the Chicago Bears on a freezing day in Wrigley Field in 1963.

Now Ditka says that playing the Super Bowl in a cold weather city is stupid and not fair to the players or fans. He believes that the game should be played “where the weather is conducive to guys being able to show their talents.”

“The weather’s going to be a problem,” Ditka said. “They made a big mistake. The game shouldn’t be there. I mean, it’s stupid.”

Personally I think that old age is starting to melt down the iron and the once tough guy is getting a little soft.

After all, if the playoffs in order to get to the Super Bowl can be in cold weather, than so can the big game itself.
