Is it Monday yet?

If the NFL decides to add two more playoff teams and expand the playoff field to 14 teams would mean two more playoff games, which could mean hundreds of millions of dollars in new revenue for the league, the additional two playoff games might be played on Friday night and Monday night.

“The big discussion would be the first weekend, the wild card weekend of the playoffs, how would you structure that?”  Commissioner Roger Goodell said on NFL Network. “Three on Saturday, three on Sunday? We’re looking at every alternative, and I think that’s what the membership ultimately is going to have to decide. Would you play a game on Friday night, two on Saturday, two on Sunday and another on Monday?”

If in fact playoff teams are expanded, I think Monday and Friday nights are a great idea. Three playoff games all on one day two days in a row might be a bit too much to fathom.

Although either way, wives and girlfriends that aren’t into football wouldn’t be happy regardless of when the games are played. After all, they think one game per weekend is too many.
