Back to the Bucs.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports has reported that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have hired former Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith to replace Greg Schiano who was fired Monday.

This won’t be Smith’s first stint with the Bucs as he was linebackers coach from 1996 through 2000. He was the St. Louis Rams defensive coordinator in 2001-2003 and was the Bears head coach from 2004-2012.

Smith must have made a good impression on the Bucs because he was the only candidate interviewed for the position.

Considering that the Bucs are also looking for a General Manager, it will be interesting to see how it works out after hiring a coach first.
