Ben Tate tweets he's done with Houston.
A long, hard season ended for the Houston Texans on Sunday with a loss to the Tennessee Titans, but the real losses are expected to come in the next few months as some players decide to head elsewhere. Running back Ben Tate has made it no secret that he is looking to move on to greener pastures.
I shoulda just posted it like this the 1st time instead of as 3 separate tweets pic.twitter.com/Oh5SIMvM0Y— Ben Tate (@BenTateRB) December 30, 2013
Tate has been talked about as if he is going to be a hot commodity in the free agent market, but I can’t see why. During the 2011 season he looked great (175 carries, 942 yards) sharing time with Arian Foster behind Houston’s mammoth line, but other than that he has been average at best (4.3 yards a carry in 2012 and ’13).
Tate is a decent back, but when given the chance to shine as the primary ball carrier he didn’t step up. Part of the blame can go to the play calling and a poor offensive line of course, but he still didn’t do much with the chances he had.
So go ahead and go somewhere else Ben Tate. Houston is not going to miss you.
