Titus Young case nearing resolution.
A once promising career came to a screeching halt when he started screwing up in games on purpose, but his life took a turn for the worse when former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young went on a mini-crime spree.
Last May he was arrested on 11 criminal charges—including four felony burglary ones.
His lawyer has asked for one continuance after another, but it appears that the last one may have been granted. A resolution is supposedly close to being reached. His lawyer hopes to have one with the district attorney before the next court date, January 16.
"But that's not certain," he said. "You never know. Negotiations can sometimes fall apart."
Both sides are staying pretty tight lipped about the talks so there is no indication what the settlement could entail.
"We're taking into consideration a lot of things," Deputy District Attorney Nikki Chambers said. "Our primary concern is the safety of our community."
