Seattle shutout nabs free cars for fans
On Sunday the Seattle Seahawks established themselves as the dominant team to beat in the NFL yet again with a 23-0 win over the New York Giants. In the process they did so much more than just win the game. They won cars for 12 lucky fans!
A local dealership decided to do the ole “if the team shuts out so and so than free ____!” Rather than promise free cars to everyone they just promised 12 people would win—which is good since the Seahawks were playing the hapless Giants.
So the 12 lucky winners are going to get a $35,000 windfall. Sounds like a pretty expensive promotion, right? It actually only costs $7000 for an insurance policy to cover a $420,000 payout—or the cost of 12 cars valued at $35,000.
Good promotion? No, more like a genius one.
