What a difference a year makes.

Just over a year ago, Auburn lost to Alabama 49-0 on their way to 3–9 overall and a 0–8 record in SEC play, the schools worst football season in 60 years.

This year with a new head coach fresh from the high school ranks, Gus Malzahn led Auburn to a 12-1 record and an SEC Championship after defeating Missouri 59-42 on Saturday.

Running back Tre Mason was the star for Auburn in rushing for 304 yards and four touchdowns.

No.3 Auburn now has to wait and see what happens Saturday night between No.1 Florida State vs. Duke in the ACC Championship and No.2 Ohio State vs. Michigan State in the Big 10 Championship.

If either of those teams loses it will open the door for Auburn to play in the BCS National Championship game in January.
