Former rugby player ready to show NFL what tough is.

The Indianapolis Colts feel like they have a guy that could potentially be a great NFL player. Why just ‘potentially?’ Well—because he’s never played a down in his life.

I’m talking about former Kenyan rugby player Daniel Adongo.

There are similarities between the two games, but in order to play rugby a player has to be in intense physical shape. So while he may not have known anything (he had to be taught how to put the equipment on) he is definitely physical enough to play.

After showing the team enough during the preseason Adongo was signed to the practice squad, but has now been called up to play special teams on Sunday when they take on the Cincinnati Bengals.
Adongo had this to say about the opportunity:

“I think it's a tribute to (hard work). But with that said, I'm not going to let that excitement get to me. It's being subdued by my duty and obligation to do my job and whatever is asked of me by my coaches.”

If only more players thought that way…
