The Stoke striker had gone twenty games without a win until last weekend…

In the Italian Serie A Roma defender Mehdi Benatia enjoyed a streak of 17 consecutive games on the winning side over the end of last season with Udinese and the beginning of this season wearing Roma’s colors.

On the other end of the scale, 24-year old Austrian striker Marko Arnautovic had to wait eleven long months before he could celebrate at the end of a competitive game in the league.

Last season, Arnautovic wore Werder Bremen’s green in Germany and couldn’t claim the upper hand between January and May in the Bundesliga. In fact, the only two times Werder managed to win (against Hannover and Stuttgart), Marko wasn’t even on the pitch.

Then he was dealt to Stoke City in the English Premier League. The Potters won two of the first three games of their campaign but Marko only joined afterwards. Since his arrival, Mark Hughes’ men had only managed four draws and four losses. Eventually, Arnautovic managed to break that spell and he was in the side that beat Sunderland 2-0 last Saturday. What a relief!
