Cause for Browner's suspension contested.
The Seattle Seahawks are on top of their game right now, but it appears like the road forward is going to be a little rougher. Why? Cornerback Brandon Browner has been hit with a year suspension.
We just don’t have a clue what for.
It is league policy to keep the exact reason for the suspension private; they just release the general category of it. So normally there would be no red-flags here, but for some reason the NFL has called it a PED-related suspension—something that Browner has vehemently denied.
I'm not facing suspension for PEDs, it's sad that the NFL is reporting this...— Brandon Browner (@bbrowner27) November 25, 2013
Had it been PEDs since he was hit with a first offense last year it would be a one-year suspension for the second offense—but he insists that it isn’t.
So what is it? PEDs is a bad enough reason, but if he did something else to warrant the penalty (which he has not denied) I’d almost think he would want people thinking it was PEDs instead.
