The New Orleans Saints were held to 17 points by the Atlanta Falcons defense but still held on for a 17-13 victory on Thursday night.
 
Saints quarterback Drew Brees went 23 0f 33 for 278 yards with two touchdowns to Benjamin Watson and Jimmy Graham and no interceptions.
 
Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan went 30 of 39 for 297 yards. Steven Jackson scored the Falcons only touchdown with a 1-yard run in the first quarter.
 
The Falcons had their shots for another Matty Ice comeback in the fourth but failed to score against the Saints defense.
