No love for RG3 from his head coach.

The Washington Redskins are not having the kind of season that anyone envisioned they would have. When that happens there is one thing you can count on—people are going to start complaining and some crazy rumors are going to pop up.

A juicy one popped up earlier this week. Supposedly Washington Redskins Head Coach Mike Shanahan did not want the team to draft the Heisman trophy winner. He wanted Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill instead.

Hmmm…interesting, huh?

If it’s true you have to wonder why they traded away so much in order to move up and grab Griffin in the draft. Then again, owner Dan Snyder has been known to make big deals for players he thinks people will want to watch (right Albert Haynesworth?).

So it could be that it was Snyder and general manager Bruce Allen that wanted Griffin. Once he was picked Shanahan didn’t have a choice.
