A sad ending.
Former Oakland Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons linebacker Thomas Howard was killed early Monday morning after a high-speed car crash in Oakland.
According to police, Howard was driving his BMW at more than 100 mph shortly before 1 a.m. when he hit the back of a semi-truck and veered into oncoming traffic hitting two cars, killing himself and another driver.
Howard spent five seasons with the Raiders after being a second-round draft pick in 2006 out of UTEP. He signed a two year deal with the Bengals last season but spent most of the year on IR. The Falcons signed Howard before week eight but then cut him last week.
