A different Cutty.

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has been given a bad reputation by the media for numerous reasons including his mannerisms, leadership abilities, being a good teammate and balking at authority.

The media just loves to diss on the Bears signal caller and in my opinion they have blown Cutlers actions way out of proportion.

Sure there are the clips of Cutler walking away from his offensive coordinator on the sideline and cursing out another on national television.

I still find it quite amusing that when Cutler yells at players or gets in their face he is being a bad leader and bad teammate but when Tony Romo, Tom Brady or Peyton Manning does it, they are being a good leader and trying to rally their team to victory.

There have also been numerous clips of Cutler pouting on the sidelines after being injured and no where near the coaches during games when he is not playing.

Under new Bears head coach Marc Trestman however, Cutler is a new man and it was evident during the Bears 27-20 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night.

By his actions it is obvious that Cutler has truly bought into Trestman’s system and his play calling in addition to being a big part of the process.

Every time the cameras flashed to Trestman during the game, there was Cutler at his coaches side with a play chart and helping out with backup Josh McCown.

Cutler was being a true leader, a total team player and helping his team in any way he could even though he was not on the field due to injury.

Whether it be that he is in a contract year or that he is now married with a new son, Cutler is showing more maturity and is a new man under Trestman’s tutelage, on and off the field.
