For a price you can buy a piece of Vernon Davis
Recently fans found out that they could buy a piece of Houston Texans running back Arian Foster if they wanted to. For $10 fans will be able to buy stock in all of his future earnings on and off the field.
Cool idea but can’t do it because you don’t like the Texans? Well how about San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis?
For $4 million Fantex Brokerage Services have bought the rights to 10 percent of Davis’s future earnings on and off the field which they in turn will sell to fans in the form of stock that they hope fans will be able to start trading sometime next month.
He signed his last contract in 2010, a 6-year deal for $37 million ($23 million guaranteed) with $6 million of that coming this season, but his value will take a hit due to endorsements. In the last year he lost two because he tweeted about a rival competitor.
