Pewter to Purple.

Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier has announced that newly acquired Josh Freeman will start at quarterback this Monday night against the New York Giants.

The Vikings signed Freeman five days after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers released him.

The team has not been pleased with the performances of Christian Ponder or Matt Cassell this season and they are looking for a spark to turn around a 1-4 season so far.

Freeman will be the third starter in the last four games for the Vikings and Ponder will be penciled in as the backup.
