Yankees Block Cubs From Talking to Girardi

Damn Yankees.

Everyone knows that the Chicago Cubs first choice to replace fired manager Dale Sveum is New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi.

However, they can’t talk to him until Nov. 1 when his contract expires because the Yanks have refused permission for the Cubs to talk to him.

The Cubs may never get the chance as the Yankees are expected to offer Girardi a deal he can’t refuse before his contract is up.

So, in all probability, it will all be up to Girardi as to whether he stays in New York and possibly become the highest paid manager or go to Chicago, his home town, for lesser money, but still probably a good sized chuck of cash.

Oh and there is always the chance of going down in history if he could actually turn the Cubs around and win a World Series.
