Rashad Johnson loses a finger and keeps playing.

Football is a tough, physical game played by some of the most gifted athletes on the planet. Yet sometimes it seems as if some of them have to miss a game or a few plays because their feelings are hurt.

Arizona Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson is not one of those guys.

During Sunday’s 31-7 loss to the New Orleans Saints Johnson tackled Saints return man Darren Sproles on a punt return. When he took off his glove he got a bit of a surprise—the top of one of his fingers stayed in the glove!

Ever the warrior, rather than leave his team he wrapped up the injury and kept playing!

Afterwards he did need to have surgery to shave down the exposed bone and clean the wound. The Cardinals have yet to say whether he will be available this week, but let’s be real here. The man played right after losing the finger!

He’ll be fine after a week off.
