When the New York Giants let running back Ahmad Bradshaw go the door was opened nice and wide for David Wilson to become the new starting running back. However, after another disastrous season opening performance he may find himself back on the bench.
Wilson got the start for the Giants in Sunday night’s season opener against the Dallas Cowboys, but after a pair of fumbles and just 19 yards on seven carries Head Coach Tom Coughlin can’t say that Wilson will be the starter next week.
"I'm not going to answer that question now," Coughlin said.
After he fumbled in the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys last season Wilson was in Coughlin’s dog house till the final month of the season. He played well gaining 100 yards and scoring two touchdowns on 13 carries.
The fumble he had in the season opener last season was the only one he had in 71 total carries.
