Excellent debut!

There has been a lot of talk this week about two Chicago Bears rookie lineman starting on the right side of the offensive line this season.

Most of the talk was saying that the Cincinnati Bengals defensive line was going to chew them up and spit them out and that Bears QB Jay Cutler would once again be running for his life and spending a lot of time on his back in the season opener.

After all, the Bengals' defensive front recorded a sack in every game last season except one.

Well guess what? You were all wrong, time to eat some crow!

Rookie right guard Kyle Long and rookie right tackle Jordan Mills did a great job for the whole game. Cutler was not sacked once and on a key 4th down play in the fourth quarter, rookie head coach Marc Trestman called for a run to their side.

Long and Mills had two key blocks on Matt Forte's 8-yard carry around the right edge for a first down, setting up the decisive touchdown in the Bears' 24-21 victory over the Bengals.
