ESPN Fires Ron Jaworski from MNF Booth
Written by Nolan Thomas, Wednesday February 15 2012
ESPN announced Wednesday that analyst Ron Jaworski would be removed as an analyst on Monday Night Football and that Mike Tirico and Jon Gruden will do the popular broadcast as a two-man team.
Jaworski, who replaced Joe Theismann after one season, had been in the MNF booth since 2007.
When Tony Kornheiser was in the booth for two seasons Jaworski added a respected football voice to the broadcast but when Gruden was brought in it turned into two football guys in the booth that appeared to be in competition for who could say the most meaningless gibberish.
In other words, Jaworski and Gruden would talk just to be heard when nothing of substance about the actual game was being said.
Jaworski will remain at ESPN and appear on various NFL programs, including "Countdown" and "Matchup."
