Is Tom Coughlin a Dirty Trickster?
Written by Travis Pulver, Tuesday February 07 2012
Much has been said about Bill Belichick being a dirty trickster, but after Sunday one can’t help but wonder if Tom Coughlin is too.
With 57 seconds on the clock in Super Bowl XLVI, Tom Brady had a good shot at scoring. Coughlin, whether it was on purpose or not, resulted to sending 12 guys on the field to stop him. The Patriots got a free play (resulting in an incompletion), and then got 5-yards for the penalty against the Giants—and lost a lot of valuable time off the clock in the process.
If it wasn’t on purpose, it sure sounds like a gamble worth taking…
