Ricky Williams Retiring From NFL
After 11 seasons in the NFL, running back Ricky Williams is retiring. He will end a career that included five 1,000-yard seasons, 74 career touchdowns and over 10,000 yards total rushing.
Last week Williams told reporters he was coming back for next season.
"I've grown a lot, kind of falling into a new role and a new city and a new organization, and I've gotten better. And like everyone else, I feel like I have something to build on for next year."
Sources are reporting that Williams told the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday that he was retiring. Williams retired in 2004 before he would have to face a four-game suspension for violating the league's drug policy. He returned in 2005.
At 34, Williams backed up Ray Rice last season but managed to record 444 yards rushing on 108 attempts with two touchdowns.
