Is Bill Belichick Losing His Grip?
Written by Travis Pulver, Monday February 06 2012
Players tend to buy in to New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick’s methods because of his track record. With five trips to the Super Bowl—including three wins—in 11 years, it is clear that the man knows how to win.
However, it appears that the iron grip of Belichick may not be so ‘iron’ after all.
Tom Brady can’t be expected to control what his wife says within ear shot of the media, although he’ll likely hear plenty about it from his teammates if not his coaches. While her words may be upsetting to some, it is the actions of a couple other guys that other players, coaches, and fans may take issue with it.
Apparently offensive tackle Matt Light and tight end Rob Gronkowski were not to down about losing a Super Bowl they could have (or should have) won. After the game that night they made sure that party rock was in the house by taking their shirts off and dancing the night away.
While it is just a game and not the most important thing on earth, it would not have hurt to have appeared somewhat distraught over the loss for at least a few hours.
