Place Your Super Bets
Written by Christopher Corazon, Saturday February 04 2012
There should be no surprise that the Super Bowl is one of the biggest betting events of the year. You can bet on the coin toss (tails is supposed to be favored, still I always bet on what I hope I use the most - heads). You can bet on how long the National Anthem will be. You could probably even bet on whether or not Rob Gronkowski will be wearing his boot.
Of course, there are the more traditional bets. The line for the game opened around 3 and a half in favor of New England, but the money clearly came in for New York as the line moved in that direction. And you can bet the over/under for the total points. With the reputation of these two defenses, it might be popular to say "over'".
Being another "Boston/New York" match, there are the bets between the cities too. WBZ in Boston bet a Boston Creme Pie against a New York Cheese Cake from WCBS in NYC. The governors of Massachusetts and New York also bet 46 servings of various foods. Fortunately, the winners will be local food shelters.
