it's been a mild winter in New England. There have been fewer reports of colds or the flu. But lately, there has been a rise in fever: Patriots fever.

A crowd of about 25,000 was on hand in Foxborough Sunday to send the team off to Indianapolis. The fans are hoping the team will return with their fourth win in 11 years. but they must beat the New York Giants, the team that ended New England's try for perfection in 2007. But the Giants at one time were the team in the region.

Before the Boston Patriots were playing in Fenway Park, the Giants were the closest team. There were lean years early in New England, although the Pats did make it t Super Bowl XX, only to get trounced by the Bears. Meanwhile, fans that stayed loyal to the Giants were rewarded with two championships under Bill Parcells.

Pacells came to New England and brought the Patriots to their second Super Bowl appearance, but they lost to the Packers. Parcells moved on, but a few years later his disciple Bill Belichick came to town and things changed.

Everyone knows the recent history. Tom Brady came in and won three Super Bowls in four years. But there was that one loss to the Giants in Super Bowl XLII. But now there is a chance to beat them in the rematch.

b-Dub, baseball will always be #1 in my heart, and maybe still in Boston (but the Pats are making it hard to keep the top spot)... still, 5 Super Bowls in 11 years is kind of nice....

CC, let's be honest, Boston fans would trade 100 Super Bowls for one more World Series win for their beloved Sawks.
