Matt Forte Passes Physical Will Play in Pro-Bowl
Written by Nolan Thomas, Thursday January 19 2012
Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee against the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 4 at Soldier Field, which prematurely ended his season.
At the time of his injury, Forte led the NFL in total yards from scrimmage and finished the season with 997 yards rushing while averaging 4.9 yards per carry and had a team-high 52 receptions for 490 yards.
Because of this he was voted to his first ever Pro Bowl, this will be played Jan. 29 in Honolulu, and the Bears running back vowed that he would play in this game.
Forte will get to take his first all expenses-paid trip to Hawaii as the Bears announced on Thursday that Forte passed a physical and has been cleared to participate in the game.
Bears Head Coach Lovie Smith, who gave Forte his backing, said that he is all for him playing in the Pro Bowl and deservedly so after the season he had.
Forte will be joined on the team by Bears cornerback Charles Tillman and special teamer Corey Graham.
