Tebow Jersey Goes for $1,400 on eBay
An eBay bidder from Texas bid $1,400 for a Denver Broncos jersey briefly worn by Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl. When the Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Broncos on January 8th, the Mayor lost a bet with Denver’s Mayor Michael Hancock. The bet was to “Tebow” in front of Heinz Field with the cameras rolling, wearing the iconic Tebow jersey. After that humiliation, Mr. Ravenstahl decided to sign the jersey and auction it on eBay, with the goal of donating proceeds to The Pittsburgh Promise, the college scholarship program he co-founded. The eight-day auction, which concluded today, drew 68 bids from 23 bidders. The winner, “scottgunn,” bid seven times. Mr. Ravenstahl will send him a letter of appreciation along with the jersey. Because of eBay fees, the scholarship program will receive a bit less than $1,400, the mayor’s office said.
