NFC Teams Make a Point in Playoff Victories
Written by Nolan Thomas, Monday January 16 2012
The San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants made a big point in their playoff victories over the weekend.
They proved that championships can still be won with a ball control offense and a stingy defense against elite pass happy quarterbacks.
Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers are considered to be the cream of the crop with offenses that throughout the regular season could basically score at will who were predicted by most to face off against each other in the NFC Championship game next weekend.
The 49ers sent Brees packing and the Giants sent Rodgers home, both quarterbacks with their tails between their legs.
Both games proved that teams can still win in the NFL with a good old fashioned running game, an opportunistic passing game and a tough defense.
